Hello, my name is Noor Salahuddin. Welcome to my blog!

This blog is an attempt to both chronicle my professional career and share my writing with the world.

I graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago in May 2011 with a BA in English literature. Since then I have interned at four non-profit organizations: the Chicago chapter of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR-Chicago), East-West Link – a youth leadership and mentoring program, the Human Development Foundation, and the Institute for Social Policy and Understanding. I am a driven, dedicated, and adaptable individual with a propensity for professional excellence. With a demonstrated ability to process information quickly and efficiently, and summarize succinctly, I have written both journalistic style research papers and opinion/editorial pieces for multiple publications. Throughout my work experience, I have learned how to debate and critically analyze multiple sides of an issue, utilizing my deep understanding of current affairs to introduce nuanced and balanced arguments. Working in multicultural, multilingual environments has taught me valuable communication skills to engage clients from diverse religious, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

My unique work experience has given me confidence to handle multiple projects at one time with an upbeat, positive attitude. I am fully equipped as an effective communicator, who is open to constructive criticism. As a team player, I have proven to be a valuable asset to various non-profit organizations. With a giving and open personality, I have contributed beneficial insight to coworkers and clients wearing an approachable, friendly, and helpful disposition. Juggling different assignments from four separate organizations has taught me the importance of time management and enabled me to balance a diverse array of tasks with confidence. As a keen observer of news media, pop culture, and international politics, I am always curious for information. I am an avid reader and quick learner. Ambitious and goal-oriented, I am a planner and achiever.
